"Malcolm Light
Retired oil geologist who has worked on global warming in the Arctic and determined the time of the final Permian-style methane firestorm extinction event to begin in 2024."
What is this "final Permian-style methane firestorm extinction event"?
I have only heard it from Malcolm Light. And he never explains it. Why does it only come from Light? Who does nobody else speak about it?
When I research the subject more, I came over this text in an interview with Light by Dorsi Diaz:
"Unfortunately for us, global warming has heated up the oceanic currents fed by the Gulf Stream flowing into the Arctic, causing massive destabilization of the sub-sea methane hydrates and fault seals and releasing increasing volumes of subsea methane hydrate and mantle methane directly into the atmosphere. The major threat to us is heat from the Gulf Stream breaking the methane hydrate seals on the fracture systems and releasing both the sub-sea methane hydrate and mantle methane directly into the atmosphere. I would say that the reserves of mantle methane are probably inexhaustible. Therefore the best thing we can do is cool down the Gulf Stream immediately by cutting back on US and Canadian emissions by 80% to 90 % and thus replace the pressure release valves back on the Earth's methane pressure cooker, before it is too late to stop it venting itself into the atmosphere and frying us all."
And in
this key text by Light from 2019, posted at the
Seemorerocks blog, he says:
"Humanity is facing the final, western corporate capitalist, fossil fuel initiated, catastrophic Arctic methane hydrate destabilization and Permian style methane blowout - firestorm that will culminate in 1 to 8 years (2020 to 2027). We will all be boiled alive like lobsters in a massively humid atmosphere and converted into stardust."
What does he mean? Will our atmosphere become so saturated with methane (which can catch fire) after the giant methane burp from the Arctic, that the whole globe will catch fire when the methane is ignited?
According to an interview with professor Peter Wadhams, referred to in
this blogpost of mine, 2020, there could be a 700 gigaton burp of methane in the Arctic, at any time. This is said by a professor of Ocean Physics who have studied the Arctic for a lifetime (50 years, with 50 polar expeditions behind him, see
this article).
Just think about it. The atmosphere contains 5 gigaton of methane. 700 gigaton, it's 14 times the amount of methane that is in the atmosphere right now. Could this escape the Arctic, spread over the globe, and be ignited, so that the whole world would catch fire?
According to Light, yes, but I don't understand the mechanics behind it, how it is possible, it seems too incredible. If you know something about it, please explain it to me in the comments section below. I hope Malcolm Light reads this, and helps me with some comment, or maybe an article about it on the Arctic News blog.
The interesting thing here is that the Bible prophecies that the world will be destroyed by fire. See
2. Peter 3:10:
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up." (King James Bible)
"By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly."
Here are more Bible verses that teach the same, for deeper study.
Isn't it strange how Bible prophecy and science meet each other? How it seems like the biblical prophets knew about the methane firestorm?
